About this recipe

I only post recipes that I have tried and verified and are good to my taste — all taste may vary.

A cold sheet of pastry and a hot oven are what keep the layers from melting into a cracker. The egg wash is only for color.

Ingredients

Method

  1. 01

Heat the oven to 400°F. Line a sheet pan with parchment.

  2. 02

Roll the pastry just enough to even the edges. Cut it into 24 strips.

  3. 03

Wrap each sausage in a strip, seam down, leaving the ends peeking out. Set them on the pan.

  4. 04

Brush with egg. Sprinkle with seasoning if you want it. Bake until the pastry is deep gold, 16 to 18 minutes.

  5. 05

Cool 3 minutes and serve with mustard.

Notes & swaps

  • Keep the unused pastry in the fridge while you wrap. Warm dough will not puff.
  • These freeze unbaked. Bake from frozen at 400°F and add about 5 minutes.
