About this recipe

I only post recipes that I have tried and verified and are good to my taste — all taste may vary.

A rosemary simple syrup made ahead means the punch bowl is just pouring and topping off when guests arrive.

Ingredients

Method

  1. 01

Make the syrup: bring sugar, water and rosemary sprigs to a simmer, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Take off the heat and let the rosemary steep 15 minutes, then strain and chill.

  2. 02

Just before serving, combine the pear nectar and rosemary syrup in a punch bowl.

  3. 03

Top with the sparkling wine and stir once, gently.

  4. 04

Float pear slices and a few fresh rosemary sprigs on top. Ladle into glasses over ice.

Notes & swaps

  • A rosemary simple syrup made ahead means the punch bowl is just pouring and topping off when guests arrive.
  • Non-alcoholic version: swap the sparkling wine for a dry sparkling cider or sparkling water. Taste before serving — a non-alcoholic punch can want a little more rosemary syrup to match the flavor.
