Italian Meatballs

Tender, herb-seasoned beef meatballs — chilled, floured, pan-fried, then baked until golden.

Soak the 0.5 cup breadcrumbs in the 0.333 cup milk to make a panade.

Combine the ground beef, panade, egg, Italian herbs, dried parsley, minced garlic, onion powder, garlic powder, seasoned salt, pepper, and Parmesan; mix just until combined.

Shape into 8 meatballs, about 3.6 oz each.

Chill the shaped meatballs for 30 to 45 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Toss the chilled meatballs in about 1 cup flour, shake off the excess, and discard the remaining flour.

Heat the 2 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and pan-fry the meatballs until golden on both sides (they don't need to cook through yet).

Transfer the meatballs to a baking dish and bake until golden and cooked through, about 30 minutes.

Warm the marinara and meatballs together in a pan over low heat for 5 to 7 minutes.

Serve topped with Parmesan and parsley, with ravioli or spaghetti cooked according to package instructions.
