Apple crisp with brown sugar oat topping

Heat oven to 375°F. Toss apples with sugar, lemon, cornstarch, 1 tsp cinnamon and nutmeg; spread in a buttered 9x13 dish.

Mix flour, oats, brown sugar, salt and remaining cinnamon. Rub in butter with your fingers until clumpy; stir in pecans.

Scatter topping over apples.

Bake 40–45 minutes until the juices bubble thickly at the edges and the top is deep golden.

Cool 15 minutes before serving so the juices thicken.
